Jebel Ali
Jebel Ali is a sprawling coastal community about 35 kilometers southwest of central Dubai. It is best known for hosting the world’s largest man-made harbor, the Port of Jebel Ali, which serves as a major logistics and shipping hub. Adjacent to the port lies the Jebel Ali Free Zone, home to thousands of international businesses across a wide array of industries, contributing significantly to Dubai’s non‑oil economy.
Beyond its industrial prominence, Jebel Ali offers residential zones like Jebel Ali Village, featuring parks, schools, community facilities, and religious centers such as St. Francis of Assisi Church.
The community also includes Palm Jebel Ali, an ambitious artificial island twice the size of Palm Jumeirah, planned to host luxury residences, resorts, beaches, and recreational facilities. The area is well served by the Dubai Metro (Red Line) via stations like Ibn Battuta, Danube, and UAE Exchange, and by Sheikh Zayed Road, offering convenient access to Downtown Dubai, Marina, and Abu Dhabi.
Looking to the future, the Jebel Ali Racecourse site is being redeveloped into a five‑square‑kilometer master‑planned district designed by Bjarke Ingels Group. It will feature a central park and distinct “urban islands,” combining eco‑friendly infrastructure with walkable neighborhoods that echo Dubai’s 2040 vision. Beyond that, Jebel Ali Beach is under development to become Dubai’s longest public beachfront, stretching over six kilometers and combining sandy shores, mangrove ecology zones, sports areas, and family-friendly amenities, all aligned with Dubai’s sustainability goals.
In essence, Jebel Ali is a multifaceted district where industry, innovation, heritage, and future urban design come together in a diverse and evolving landscape.
