The United Arab Emirates, or UAE, is a country on the Arabian Peninsula. It was founded in 1971 when 6 emirates joined together, and in 1972 Ras Al Khaimah became the 7th emirate. The UAE has a total land area of about 71,000 square kilometers and a population of around 11.5 million people in 2025.
The official language is Arabic, and Islam is the official religion. English is widely spoken in daily life and business. The UAE is known for its modern cities, fast development, and also for keeping its cultural traditions.
